Wage Subsidy and another Resurgence Support Payment
COVID Business Support Announcements:
Wage Subsidy Available to apply for from Thursday 4 March 1pm.
ANOTHER Resurgence Support Payment for businesses affected by the change in COVID alert levels available to apply for from 8 March.
Wage Subsidy Eligibility from the MSD website:
"To qualify, your business needs to experience a 40% decline in revenue over a consecutive 14-day period between 28 February and 21 March, compared to a typical 14-day period between 4 January and 14 February 2021 (6 weeks before the change in Alert Levels).
The Wage Subsidy March 2021 will be paid for 2 weeks at the rate of:
$585.80 a week for each full-time employee retained (20 hours a week or more)
$350 a week for each part-time employee retained (less than 20 hours a week).
You can’t get a Wage Subsidy for an employee for the period they're covered by a Leave Support Scheme or Short-Term Absence Payment."
Update from the IRD re additional Resurgence Payment:
"The Minister of Finance, Grant Robertson, has announced that the Resurgence Support
Payment will be available for businesses affected by the change in COVID alert levels
that started on 28 February. Businesses will be able to apply for this payment on Inland
Revenue's website from 8 March.
This is in addition to the Resurgence Support Payment for businesses affected by the
change in alert levels from 14 to 21 February, which is currently available. Businesses
affected by both alert level changes can apply for each of the payments.
